AViSTO regularly recruits Business Engineers, Business Managers, and Business Unit Managers.
On this page, we present the missions of a Business Engineer, what makes this job exciting, possible career paths, and explain why working at AViSTO is rewarding.
The Business Engineer at AViSTO has three main activities:
Recruitment : idenfying and hiring future team members.
Business development: growing the client portfolio and winning new projects.
Follow-up: monitoring projects and managing the careers of team members
These activities take place within a regional sales team made up of business engineers, business managers, business unit managers, and a regional director, all in connection with the Chief Operating Officer.
Projects are very often carried out across several AViSTO technical centers, so collaboration with French and international colleagues is frequent.
The role of business engineer is exciting because it is very diverse, driven by the different roles we just described (recruitment/business development/career follow-up). You never get bored.
At AViSTO, this role takes place in highly technical environments, with projects at the cutting edge of technology.
We fight daily to secure stimulating projects for our engineers, enabling them to grow in their careers.
Finally, we care deeply about the well-being of our teams, ensuring a friendly and supportive work environment where everyone can thrive daily

Most often, you start your career as a Business Engineer.
Working closely with a senior business manager or business unit manager, the business engineers are trained in various aspects of the role (business development/operational HR/project follow-up) and gradually become more autonomous in their tasks.
As our colleague Samy says: “Being a Business Engineer at AViSTO/ADVANS Group is primarily about having a strong foundation in human skills. Then, sales techniques come in, but that’s not the main thing — it’s really who you are and whether you want to do it.”
Within our technical teams, we regularly invite developers/project managers/tech leads to take on this challenge and support their career progression.
We also recruit young engineers, ideally with some initial experience in one of AViSTO’s specialties (software development/DevOps/QA), as well as business engineers who have already held this role in other companies.
We also welcome students for end-of-study projects (PFE) or work-study contracts.
After proving yourself, you get promoted to Business Manager. The core activities remain the same, but you step more into the front line.
You are entrusted with operational follow-up of a first major client, start co-developing responses to complex tenders with technical management, conduct second interviews with candidates, and increasingly assist the business unit managers in their tasks.
After a successful experience as a business engineer, you can access the business manager position either through recruitment or internal promotion.
The profile remains the same: strong soft skills, technical interest and understanding (engineer profile), and a developed commercial sense.
At AViSTO, a business unit is a group of people (engineers and commercial team) gathered within a dedicated entity.
This entity can be an office in a city or a sub-entity of a major technical center (e.g., with about a hundred engineers).
Other possible titles: agency manager, or center manager.
The Business Unit Managers run profit centers and the teams attached to them. They manage business development as well as recruitment, career, and retention of their teams.
As with other commercial roles, you can access this position either by recruitment or internal promotion.
You hold this role after proving yourself as a business manager or after having held the same role in another company.
At AViSTO, a key account is a major client with overall revenue exceeding one million euros, but this amount can be much higher for our largest international clients.
The Key Account Manager (KAM) leads the entire commercial and technical team working on the client’s projects.
This team typically includes several business engineers/business managers/business unit managers, technical and quality management members, and dozens or even hundreds of engineers, spread across different AViSTO/ADVANS Group locations in France and internationally, sometimes directly on the client site.
The KAM ensures coordination and efficiency of all stakeholders and acts as the main point of contact for the client.
They also aim to maintain or grow these activities to ensure the group’s growth.
This responsibility can be reached by internal promotion after excelling in the commercial part of a business unit manager role. These two roles can sometimes be combined.
You can also join AViSTO having previously held this role successfully in another company.
At AViSTO, all our business engineers have completed a technical education at Master’s degree level (engineering school or University).
Some had prior commercial experience before joining us, but it’s not a prerequisite: we have strong expertise in training business engineers, whether they are engineers evolving from design/development/project management roles or fresh graduates, interns, or work-study students.
We invite you to watch the testimonials of:
Léa, Business Engineer in Paris after an end-of-study project at ADVANS Group.
Jérémy, Business Unit Manager in Sophia Antipolis.
“What I like about my job at AViSTO are these three diverse roles: recruiting engineers passionate about their work and aligned with the company’s values; being able to talk with clients to propose challenging and interesting projects that allow these engineers to grow; and finally, contributing to the technical animation of the center, discussing with team members about their career development.
All these activities make the job very varied and never boring.”
“Beyond local clients, we are fortunate to have our technical management based in Sophia Antipolis, which allows us to work on large-scale projects for various clients nationwide.”
The business engineer role at AViSTO is particularly rich, combining human, technical, commercial, and managerial skills.
It’s rare to excel in all areas at once, so we naturally support our team members in their skills development.
All our engineers, business managers, and business unit managers, regardless of experience level, have access to our internal training program composed of nine main domains:
Recruitment
Commerce
